Everything in the workspace.
Shrinker Studio is a batch image editor for the Mac built around one idea: see the result before you export it. Here is every tool, by the names the app uses.
See it working.
Real captures of Shrinker Studio. Every size, saving and quality number on screen is what the app produced for these photos.
How a batch works.
Drop in one photo or hundreds. They share one recipe: a line of steps across the top of the window, such as Format, Resize & crop, Look, Watermark, Rename and Save to. Prefer a column? Move the recipe to a sidebar on the right in Settings.
Any photo can override any step. Give the portrait its own crop, the screenshot a reduced palette, the hero image a higher quality, and leave the rest of the batch alone.
Save the recipe and use it again next time. Nothing is written to disk until you press Export.
All the tools.
Compare
- Split
- Drag a divider across the Original and the After to check every edge and gradient.
- Side by side
- The two versions next to each other, panning and zooming together from 10% to 1600%.
- Difference
- A heat map of exactly where the compressed image differs from the original.
- Formats
- The same photo as JPEG, WebP, AVIF and JPEG XL at once, with the smallest one marked.
- An honest After
- The After pane shows the exact bytes Export will write, not an estimate.
Format & quality
- Looks the same
- Finds the lowest quality that still looks identical to the original, measured with the ssimulacra2 perceptual metric.
- Fit under
- Type a size in KB. Studio finds the highest quality that fits, and offers to resize when even the lowest quality is too big.
- Manual
- Set the quality yourself, as precisely as you like.
- Wide colour kept
- Display P3 photos stay wide-gamut instead of being flattened to sRGB.
Shape
- Resize & crop
- Resize to any size, and crop with subject-aware placement that keeps the subject in frame, or place the crop by hand.
- Responsive set
- Several sizes of each photo in one export, plus the srcset snippet to paste into your HTML.
Look
- Adjust
- Exposure, contrast, colour and more, per batch or per photo.
- Look
- 18 built-in looks, from Clear and Crisp to Cinema and Graphite. All of them are included; there are no packs to buy.
- Reduce palette
- Fewer colours for graphics, icons and screenshots, with optional dithering.
- Border
- Solid, Rounded or Shadow.
Mark
- Watermark
- Up to five text or image marks per photo, placed automatically or by hand.
- Redact
- Finds QR codes, barcodes, email addresses or all text and covers them. Cover anything else by hand.
File
- Rename
- Name exported files from a template.
- Metadata
- Choose what to keep. By default only the copyright stays; location, camera and other data are removed.
- Save to
- Send exports wherever you want them. Nothing touches the disk until you press Export.
Workflow
- Recipes
- One recipe per batch, built as a line of steps. Override any step for any single photo. Save recipes to use again.
- Watch folders
- Drop images into a folder and they are processed as they arrive, with an optional menu-bar icon while a folder is watched.
- Shortcuts
- Studio actions for the Shortcuts app on macOS.
- Clipboard
- Shrink whatever image is on the clipboard with ⌃⌥⌘V.
- From the main window
- A Studio button on any result in Shrinker Pro opens that file in Studio.

Private by design.
Every image is processed on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to make.
The app has no analytics. Its only network use is checking for updates and opening checkout in your browser. Once a licence is installed, Studio also downloads a list of cancelled (refunded) licences once a day, which sends nothing about you; on the free trial it makes no such request. Your licence is checked on your Mac, with no activation server, so Studio works on a plane.
The Metadata step removes location, camera and other data by default, keeping only the copyright, so photos do not leak where they were taken.
